At Bicton Place Dental, we are building a more modern approach to preventive dentistry. Our goal is simple: help you keep healthy teeth and gums for life.

A key part of this approach is our dental therapist and hygienist, Eleanor Dodd. She plays an important role in our clinical team and in your ongoing care.

Many patients already see Eleanor for regular hygiene appointments. During these visits, she helps keep your gums healthy, removes plaque build-up, and works to prevent gum disease. Regular hygiene care helps keep your mouth healthy and stable over time.

Your dentist will still carry out your dental health reviews. These appointments focus on diagnosis, risk assessment, and treatment planning. They help us identify problems early and manage them quickly.

Eleanor also supports restorative dental care. As a qualified dental therapist, she can provide certain treatments, including fillings and children’s dental care. If you need a filling, Eleanor can often complete the treatment as part of your care within the practice team.

Over the coming months, we may also invite you for a complimentary intraoral scan with one of our specially trained dental nurses. This quick and comfortable digital scan helps us:

• create highly accurate records of your teeth and gums
• monitor changes more precisely over time
• improve communication and treatment planning
• involve more of our clinical team in your care

The scan also gives you the chance to get to know our nursing team better. They play an important role in supporting your dental journey.

Our approach is based on joined-up, prevention-focused care. Every member of the clinical team works to the top of their training so we can help you stay healthy for longer.
